Getting ControlTier

Use ControlTier 3.2
ControlTier 3.2 is the latest version of ControlTier. We recommend using 3.2 as it contains the latest features and best practices. 3.1 documentation is maintained for legacy purposes only. New development efforts, documentation, and tutorials are all focused on 3.2 or later

All ControlTier software is available for download from SourceForge.net.

It is strongly recommended that you use the ControlTier Installer to install the ControlTier system.

If you prefer to manually install the ControlTier system, you will need to download 3 software packages:

  • Workbench - deploys as a .war into a servlet container (e.g. Tomcat)
  • AntDepo - foundation of ControlTier Client
  • Commander Extension - extends AntDepo to act as a ControlTier Client

ControlTier Server software and the Commander Extension is licensed under the OSL 2 license
AntDepo software is licensed under the Apache Software License

Once you have downloaded the software consult the installation documentation.

If you prefer to build from source, you can access the ControlTier source code via CVS from http://sourceforge.net/projects/controltier/. Via the source tree (and the controltier mailing list) you can also follow along with ControlTier platform development in realtime.
